Margie Morris Illinois Mentoring Partnership - Margie Morris - Executive DirectorExecutive Director

Margie brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in the corporate and non-profit arenas, including roles in finance, marketing, fundraising, and mentoring. She is passionate about the power of mentoring to encourage healthy youth development, academic achievement, work-force readiness and social advancement.

Prior to joining MENTOR Illinois, she served as the Director of Mentor Recruitment & Relations with LINK Unlimited Scholars, an organization providing academic scholarships and mentoring for high-performing, African American, high school students living in Chicago’s most neglected communities. Margie oversaw the mentoring initiative, implementing multiple enhancements to meet or exceed best practices and earning Gold Star recognition from MENTOR Illinois for quality programming.

She previously served two terms as Board Chair of Pillars, the largest mental health and social service agency in southwest suburban Chicago, and spent seven years with Northern Trust in Chicago and London. Margie received an A.B. in Economics from the University of Chicago.

Cheryl comes to MENTOR Illinois with more than 20 years of service in the non-profit sector working with mentoring programs and volunteers.

Most recently, Cheryl worked at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Chicago (BBBSMC) for five years holding various positions including Director of Community Based Programs and Program Support Specialist. Prior to BBBSMC, Cheryl served as Director of Mentor and Volunteer Services for Chicago Youth Centers.

Cheryl also lived in Houston for five years and worked at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southeast Texas where she managed both Community and Site-Based programs. She has additionally served as a trainer and consultant to Prevention First in Illinois and Mentor TEXAS! in Houston.

Cheryl is a native of Chicago. She graduated from Hyde Park Career Academy and DePaul University. At DePaul, she obtained a BA in Political Science with a minor in Communications. She lives on the south side of Chicago with her husband and three-year-old son.
